A very attractive trip around Phuket and Phi Phi Islands, with numerous activities planned along the way. Mangrove kayaking, long tail excursions, snorkelling, scuba diving or cave exploring. All optional and for all tastes.
The islands that make up the area of Phuket and Phi Phi islands, with mostly karst reliefs and covered in tropical rainforest, are considered by many to be little pieces of paradise.
The itinerary starts at Phuket. The best place to start your voyage through the many islands that emerge from here to the south of Thailand. And your main course in Phi Phi Islandswhere the landscapes are film-like.
We will also visit the many scattered islands that we find to the south. Here we will find, amongst other points of interest, the Mu Koh Lanta National Park. As well as the small islands of Koh Kradan, Koh Ha and Koh Rokwhere the landscape is in a few words totally amazing. Also worth mentioning is the visit to the crags of Hin Daengwhere there is a manta point for sighting of giant manta rays, and where you can book a dive with a local company if you feel like it.

How it works
- The journey is led by a skipper who is in charge of steering the catamaran and showing you the activities proposed during the week of sailing.
It is important to note that there is no guide on board for the tours.
- The cook is included on board. He will be responsible for preparing all meals. The passenger goes in full board.
You will have much more time during the voyage to enjoy the islands, as you will have the opportunity to you do not have to buy food on arrival or during the week..
- We try to plan an ambitious itinerary because we like to make the most of the areas where we sail. We will sail a few extra miles so as not to miss anything in the area of Phuket and Phi Phi islands. We guarantee to visit the most interesting places in the area.
The route is subject to change due to weather conditions and mooring reservation problems. The safety of the catamaran and passengers always comes first.
- You will live the experience of travelling by catamaran with other people. We can accommodate up to 8 passengers, so you will be sharing the trip with people who are just as keen to enjoy themselves as you are. Each pair of passengers will stay in their own cabin with private bathroom.
- You will learn the concepts of sailing. You will have the opportunity to steer the boat and take part in the sailing manoeuvres on board, if you are interested of course. The skipper will be happy to show you what you need to know.
- The final price is fixed, it does not vary at all.. No matter what fuel, port taxes or food you consume at the end of the trip. You will pay nothing more.
- The menus are varied and are prepared by a local chef. The skipper and cook will buy the food needed for the whole week. You can order in advance or during the week any specific type of food you need.
- Travel itinerary may vary depending on external factors such as weather and availability of moorings. Unlike larger vessels, where the itinerary is fixed.

Day 1: PHUKET YACHT HAVEN MARINA - AO PHANG-NGA NATIONAL PARK
We set sail from Marina Phuket at noon, with the boat at sea, so everything was ready.
We head north into Ao Phang-Nga National Park and its bay, famous for its impossibly shaped emerging islands.
In the afternoon we take a 3-hour long-tail (typical Thai boat) trip to all the highlights of the bay, James Bond Island, Gipsy Village, caves, etc. We sleep at anchor in Phang-Nga Bay.
Day 2: KO HONG - KO PHAK BIA
After a hearty breakfast and a rewarding morning swim, we head for the island of Koh Hong, nestled within the Tharnbok Korannee National Park. This small uninhabited island bases its charm on its hidden lagoon.
In the afternoon today is a 3h. kayaking activity (optional) in the mangroves of Ao Thalane or Thalane bay.
One of the best places to see various species of monkeys, kingfishers and herons among others.
We sleep at anchor in the beautiful anchorage on the island of Koh Phak Bia.
Day 3: PHRA-NANG BAY AND RAY LAI BEACH
Today we head for the beaches adjoining the town of Krabi, Phra-Nang and Ray Lai, where high mountains drop steeply into the sea.
These beaches have a great atmosphere and are famous in Thailand for the number of climbers who frequent their slopes.
You can take a short introductory climbing course here. Climbing over the walls and falling into the water is a fun experience.
Later, a little further south we look for a place to anchor at the curious Koh Dam Hok group of islands. Here we can see Chicken Island, along with other picturesque islands.
Day 4: MU KO LANTA NATIONAL PARK
Today is the longest day of sailing. We set course for Mu Ko Lanta National Park early in the morning.
We settle into the catamaran with a good book to make the trip shorter. We are sure that some dolphins will probably come to greet us and brighten up the trip.
We anchor off the southern beaches of Ko Lanta. From here it is possible to make excursions into the interior of the island through the jungle.
We suggest you rent a scooter for a few hours to visit the interior of one of the most emblematic islands in the area. An exciting activity exploring on two wheels.
Once at anchor, there is the possibility to have a barbecue in the evening at the beach resorts. For those who still have the strength.
Day 5: KO MUK CAVE - KO KRADAN - KO ROK
Once again we have a day full of activities. We weigh anchor early. We arrive at the entrance to the emerald cave Tham Morakot on the island of Ko Muk.
A cave that goes 80 metres into the mountain and leads to a dream beach surrounded by cliffs. A place that will leave you speechless.
Later we jumped to Ko Kradan, probably the island with the best beaches in the area. The seabed is fantastic for snorkelling. We will spend the day on this little piece of paradise.
We want to anchor at the neighbouring island of Ko Rok. An island far away from everything where, again, the snorkelling is amazing because of its corals.
Day 6: KO ROK - KO HA - PHI PHI ISLANDS
On the remote island of Ko Rok there is no resort or hotel, it is an unspoilt island with a lovely bay and a long beach.
You will have to be careful when entering the island, as a curious group of dragons up to 1.5 metres in length are camping out on the island 🙂
Later we set course for Ko Phi Phi islands, another of the highlights of the trip. But not before making a stop at the beautiful rocky island of Ko Ha, with a unique and beautiful sandy beach. Here we will again enjoy snorkelling on the best seabed for dozens of miles.
We spend the night in the bay of Ko Phi Phi Phi islands. If you feel like it, you can enjoy some cocktails in the bars of the village.
Day 7: PHI PHI ISLANDS MARINE NATIONAL PARK
The islands belonging to the National Marine Park of Koh Phi Phi Phi are without a doubt one of the most beautiful places we have ever been to.
But it is on a visit to Phi Phi Don's little sister, the island of Phi Phi Lee, that we fall completely silent. There you will find Maya beachas you may well know, the place where Leonardo DiCaprio's film "The Beach" was filmed.
This island is probably the closest thing to paradise that we have ever dreamed of. We will visit it with the first rays of sunlight from the boat, which ensures that we will be alone in the bay, a real treat.
Overnight stay in and around Ko Phi Phi National Marine Park.
Day 8: KO YAO YAI - PHUKET - PHUKET YACHT HAVEN MARINA
We set sail from the Phi Phi islands and continue our way back north. Today we visit the island of Koh Yao Yai and its long sandy beaches.
There are no scheduled activities on this day. We can relax as much as possible before the end of the trip.
Our journey is coming to an end and we expect to arrive at the marina in the late afternoon.
It has been a great adventure that we will not easily forget.

The proposed itinerary is subject to the weather conditions of the area and the time, and the skipper may change the route for the safety of the passengers and the boat.
Moorings on the ship's itinerary may also be changed due to problems with port bookings.

Activities
Sailing
Sailing around the Andaman Sea archipelagos is a marvel. Its mid-morning breezes allow for relaxing sailing trips, the most pleasurable of sailings. We will move from island to island with just the wind, just the sound of the hull gliding over the sea, a joy.
During the trip there are numerous sailing and steering manoeuvres. You can participate whenever you feel like it and learn the basics of sailing. The skipper will be happy to show you what you need to know.
Snorkelling and Diving
One of the highlights of this trip to Phuket and the Phi Phi Islands is being able to snorkel for many hours a day.
On the colourful seabed we can see a great variety of species just by snorkelling along the surface. Turtles, lion fish, napoleon wrasse, parrot fish, etc.
You can also go scuba diving in some of the diving centres in the area. A great opportunity to see larger species such as the king manta ray or the hammerhead shark.
Trekking
Trekking on these islands is a great adventure. Through the dense jungle you can reach a waterfall or discover a deserted beach.
If we are patient and observant, we will also be able to spot a great deal of wildlife on the trails and in the trees.
Swimming
The early morning swim is the most pleasurable of the day, as well as a luxury available to few. All we have to do is put on our swimming trunks and jump off our boat.
Cultural Visits
A visit to a village in the area is planned. The Gypsy Village. Where we can see the way of life of the people and buy some souvenirs.
You can also complement the catamaran trip with visits to the temples near the embarkation point, or even the most representative temples of the country, in the vicinity of Bangkok.
Fishing
If you want to fish, just let us know so that we can bring the equipment ready. Who knows if we will eat fresh fish one night.
Caves
Thailand is famous for its many caves formed by its unique terrain.
On the planned route we pass through one of the most impressive caves you have ever seen, Emerald Cave, or its real name. Tham Morakot. A large entrance from the water that ends at a small inland beach with a clearing, definitely a very piratey place as you usually see in the movies 🙂
Climbing
The Krabi area in Phra Nang bay is one of the best in the world for climbing.
Getting started and climbing small walls to fall into the sea is an experience that will surprise you.
Kayak
There are numerous areas for kayaking during the trip. The catamaran is equipped with two kayaks so that you can enjoy this fun activity at all times.
In addition, a kayaking activity is planned in one of the best places around these islands, Thamlane bay. You will go through a large number of caves and marshy areas, spotting all kinds of wildlife along the way. Very exciting.
Highlights
Phi Phi National Marine Park
Ko Phi Phi Phi is the generic name given to the islands of Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Lee, world famous for their beautiful white sandy beaches, cliffs plunging into the sea, the magnificent turquoise blue waters and the beauty of the seabed.
Phi Phi Lee has one of the best beaches in Thailand and in the world, the well-known Maya Beach for the film "The Beach" with Leonardo di Caprio. The beauty of the place is a real eye catcher.
Mu Ko Lanta National Park
Established in 1990, the Mu Ko Lanta Marine National Park protects 15 islands in the Ko Lanta group of islands, including the southern part of Ko Lanta Yai.
The other islands in the Ko Lanta group still retain a strong appeal. The small islands of Ko Rok are beautiful, with their crescent-shaped bay surrounded by boulders, coral reefs and dazzling white sand.
Also Ko Ha, a small piece of paradise, virtually untouched in its entirety.
Ao Phang Nga National Park
Established in 1981 and covering an area of 400 sq km, Ao Phang-Nga National Park is dotted with numerous vegetation-covered limestone peaks.
The base of these sea totems has been corroded by water, which has carved out impressive natural grottoes. This site, absolutely unique in the world, was not affected by the tsunami.
Inside Ao Phang-Nga National Park it is possible to explore by motorised canoe, which begins by skirting a thick mangrove forest. The place used to be infested with gavials (the world's largest crocodiles). Quite a "Crocodile Dundee" environment.
During the canoe excursion you will visit the cave paintings, the famous "James Bond island and the settlement of the Gipgsy Village among other things.
Emerald Cave Tham Morakot
The island of Ko Muk has good coral reefs and a beautiful beach overlooking Ko Kradan.
But the main attraction is a sort of tunnel, called the Tham Morakhot (emerald cave), known throughout Thailand.
This opens to the west and at low tide leads to a large emerald blue inland pool. A cave that goes 80 metres into the mountain and leads to a dreamy beach surrounded by cliffs.
An unmissable view that we will not miss from our catamaran. From where we can visit it first thing in the morning, when the tourists have not yet arrived and we can be alone.
Tham Lane Mangroves by kayak
Kayaking is the best way to discover the most remote places that are inaccessible to large boats.
If you love nature and exploration, kayaking in the remote islands and mangroves around the Andaman Sea is a must.
In the mangroves of Ao Thalane it is possible to kayak in the inland lagoons, entering the dense jungle, in a film-like landscape. It is one of the best places to see various species of monkeys, kingfishers and herons among others.
Ko Kradan Island
This exotic Thai island, stretched between coconut and palm trees with magnificent coral reefs under the sea, is the most beautiful of its neighbours.
A splendid occasion to put on your fins or to toast yourself in the sun. A special feature is that every year Asian couples come here for Valentine's Day to get married underwater, wearing wetsuits of course!
Ko Kradan has some of the best beaches for dozens of miles. Relax in style.

Lagoon boats currently dominate the yacht charter sector. Their design captivates everyone who comes on board and many do not return to the yacht after boarding one of their catamarans:

How to get there
Phuket is linked to Spain:
- Barcelona (BCN) - Phuket (HKT), with 1 stopover in Moscow, Qatar, Dubai or Istanbul among others.
- Madrid (MAD) - Phuket (HKT), with 1 stopover in Moscow, Abu Dhabi, Dubai or Istanbul among others.
Return flights with the same airline and stopovers.
Alternatives to reduce the cost of flights
- You have to fly both outbound and return with the same airline. This reduces costs.
- Leaving from Barcelona or Madrid also reduces costs, obviously.
The cost of the aircraft looked at in advance can range from e500 to 700 euros to and from with 1 short stopover.
PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Expenses during the voyage
Expected expenses for an 8 days/8 nights trip can be around 150 - 200 euros per person, but this is relative and depends on the activities you do at your destination.
- Transport, bus or taxi on the first day.
- Restaurants during the voyage. Usually about 2 or 3 times.
- Souvenirs.
- Entrance to parks (50 euros maximum).
- Extra activities. Kayaking, motorised long tail tour, scooter, climbing, diving. Optional.
Currency exchange
Thailand's currency is the Thai baht. So you will have to change currency.
The options are as follows:
- The best option is to bring euros from Spain and exchange them at your destination. Where you will get the worst exchange is at the airport and hotels. Where you will get the best exchange is at the banks and exchange offices on the street. The differences are sometimes minimal, so there is no need to go to the boondocks unless you are exchanging thousands of euros.
- If you arrive at your destination without much time, the best thing to do is to change in the vicinity of the marina. We will inform you where to do this later.
- If you do not bring euros from Spain, which is the most convenient option, you will have to withdraw Thai baht directly from the ATMs, although the exchange rate will be a little more expensive. We recommend that you ask your bank in Spain about the commission and also check with your bank to make sure that your card will work in Thai ATMs.
- Regarding the last option, which is to exchange and bring bahts from Spain, we do not recommend it at all for the moment. The exchange rate that Spanish banks give us is ridiculous for this currency.
Telephone and internet
- We recommend that you always go abroad with your internet data connected. This gives you a lot of security so that you don't get lost at any time.
Before leaving Spain you should talk to your carrier and try to arrange a data pass in Thailand and assess the price.
- Data coverage while travelling is not always guaranteed and you will not always enjoy 3G or 4G on your phone, only normal speed.
Medical expenses
- The trip does not include travel insurance to cover hypothetical medical expenses at the destination. Please contact us to request one.
Visa
Spanish citizens do not need to have obtained a visa to enter Thailand.
When we enter Thai territory we are given a 30-day stay permit on presentation of our passport with a minimum validity of 6 months without having to pay anything.
Once on the plane, you will be given the papers to fill in. One of them is the "Departure Card". Normally they will staple it to your passport, but if they don't, don't lose it, as you will need it to leave the country.
Only in case you want to extend your stay beyond 30 days you will have to pay a fee.
Vaccines
Thailand is the most westernised and developed Asian country. So, if you move around the tourist areas of the country, you basically need the same vaccinations as in your home country.
Although the public health authorities will recommend a series of vaccinations for your peace of mind during your trip, we suggest that you visit the vaccination centres in each area where you live. There they will tell you or advise you on what vaccinations you should get depending on the area of the country you are visiting.

The trip itself has been good, for the places we have been able to enjoy and without a doubt for the company, but we would not repeat with this company, we had chosen precisely this one based on the comments and in our case they have not adjusted to reality.
- Poor food, it had the feeling of being in a camp, with a daily pasta menu with very basic preparations, the breakfasts were also very scarce. Luckily in port we were buying bread and pasta ourselves so we could have a proper breakfast. We already know that the cook who usually makes the voyage failed and the new one was not used to those tasks on a ship, but I believe that we passengers should not pay for these inconveniences. The same thing refers to the disorder and lack of cleanliness in the kitchen. Thank Lucia and Lourdes, two crew members who took charge of the kitchen and solved much of the problem.
- All week without air conditioning due to a breakdown. We are in the month of July and it was really overwhelming to sleep in the port with so much heat at night.
Finally, this is a trip of high economic value and we consider that we should have received better attention from MeleTravels, by exposing the problems we have encountered, everything has been missed without assuming any fault.

I have already travelled with Melee Travels to Croatia and Greece. This year it was Sardinia, and everything was great as always: the organisation, the boat, the company, the skipper Joan, and Anita the cook. I'm already thinking about where to go next year!!!!

Costa Esmeralda, dream destination. Joan, the best possible boss. Having a cook included has no name, it is a quantum leap in comfort. And the quality of the cooking was spectacular. All of this made us spend an unforgettable week and made a very beautiful human cone. Thank you Joan and Anita!

An experience out of ten! It couldn't have gone better... the boat, the company, the skipper... it wasn't the first time I'd done this type of trip but it was the first time with Mêlée and it has been the best by far. Thank you Joan for your patience and I hope to meet again on a new adventure.

An experience to repeat. I have made a trip with a friend through Ibiza and Formentera and we have been more than satisfied. First of all, the professionalism and formality shown by the staff. From the first moment, they informed us of the details of the trip, being totally clear and transparent with the conditions of the trip. Secondly, the skipper of the boat, Joan, has been charming, not only in his work, but also as a person. He has been very kind and close, worrying about the well-being and safety of all the crew members. He knows the area in which he navigates perfectly and always has alternatives to anchor if the sea conditions are somewhat adverse. All this so that customers can make the most of the experience. Thirdly, the rest of the crew group has been a pleasure. We have gotten along very well and we have created a very good atmosphere on board. Finally, the area in which we have sailed and the experiences we have had (such as sunrises, sunsets, dinners on the mainland or activities such as snorkeling or paddle surfing) have made a week seem like two days.
I recommend this company and this captain 100%. I'll sail with them again!

In love with the colour of the waters of Ibiza/Formentera. I think that everyone should live this experience with Mêlée Travels. It has been a fascinating adventure and difficult to match.
We have enjoyed the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets we have ever seen, with a full moon included, unforgettable!
Sailing and feeling the wind while watching the dance of the sails or diving in front of more idyllic beaches is a wonder that is very difficult to describe.
I made the journey with a friend and when I got there I met wonderful people.
It has been a trip of 10 in all aspects.

I recommend booking with Melee Travels 100%. The boat that Joan found for us was from 2022 – brand new, with beautiful finishes – and we didn’t have a single problem all week. To be honest, we were really pleased to have chosen such a new boat; I’d definitely recommend it if you want to enjoy the experience to the full and avoid any issues during the week. The boat company’s manager, Michael, was absolutely brilliant – I’d give him 10 out of 10. He helped us a great deal throughout the whole trip and was in constant contact with our skipper. He booked scooters for us on the islands, reserved tables for dinner at restaurants and gave us loads of recommendations for things to do on each island. Our skipper, Michael, was also fantastic. He gave us plenty of advice too, was very careful about the weather and the waves, and handled the boat with great care. The manager of the supplier told us he had no idea how we’d managed to get such a good price for such a new boat! Thank you so much for all your hard work, Joan! Thanks for everything! We couldn’t have done it without you. We had a dream honeymoon.

It has been a dream to be able to see the sunrise in the middle of the sea, to reach deserted coves or islands that can only be reached by boat, the Greek islands are a wonder of nature and we have been able to discover them in the best company. I only hope to be able to repeat soon!

The experience has been unforgettable. Joan is not only an excellent, professional, friendly and discreet skipper, but he also tailors the trips to suit the passengers’ needs. He also offers you the option of extending your trip, with pre-cruise stays (in our case, Athens) and post-cruise stays (in our case, Corfu) at hotels that are very well chosen in terms of both location and value for money.
Three couples have gone to the Ionian Islands, and we’re absolutely delighted!!!!

I did a trip through the Kornatti islands with Mêlée travels. The sea is calm (for beginners it is ideal) and with unforgettable sunrises. We were also lucky to have Joan as a skipper who, in addition to his duties, has the added bonus of close personal treatment and explains navigation keys to you, making the experience more enriching. Totally recommended and repeatable

Great Experience with the whole team on Board. I spent 1 week some years ago sailing along Croatia Islands coast with Joan and his wife and it was a very nice experience. The boat, the crew, the views, the stories and memories will be with me forever. Thanks to Joan for being our Captain and I deeply encourage new travelers to sail the Sea with Melee Travels.
