GENERAL

Trip

We'd love you to come and explore the hidden gems of the Balearic Islands on a sailing trip to Mallorca. There are so many of them, and many of them are only accessible by boat.

A very seafaring voyage where you will enjoy the sailing between islands. Participating in the sail trimming manoeuvres, steering the yacht and learning concepts you can't imagine.

On this trip you can find the best beaches of all our current journeys, where bathing from our sailboat is a real privilege. As well as strolling through the streets of the mythical towns of Palma de Mallorca, Pollensa or Sóller, among others.

During the week-long voyage around the island of Mallorca, it is planned to visit the natural park of Cabrera, a unique natural area that is not to be missed. Then you will travel northwards along the beautiful east coast of Mallorca, stopping off at the Pollensa Bay, where you will visit cape Formentor, one of the few spaces still intact in Mallorca with very good beaches.

If you prefer to visit the island of Mallorca by sailboat with your travel groupwithout sharing a boat, then visit our section on rent a boat in balearic islands for private groups.

A very complete sailing trip around Mallorca, in which we will show you its most hidden corners. Don't miss it.

route-menorca-mallorca-sailboat

How it works

  • The trip is led by a skipper. who is in charge of steering the boat and showing you the activities proposed during the week of sailing.

It is important to note that there is no guide on board for the visits, nor is there a cook (meals are taken in groups, a very common practice on sailboats of this type).

  • We try to plan an ambitious itinerary because we like to make the most of the areas where we are sailing. We will sail a few extra miles so as not to miss anything. We guarantee to visit the most interesting places in the area.

The route is subject to change due to weather conditions and problems with mooring reservations. The safety of the yacht and passengers always comes first.

  • You will live the experience of travelling around Mallorca on a sailing boat with other people. You will share the trip with people with the same desire to enjoy yourself as you. Each pair of passengers will stay in their own cabin with private or shared bathroom, depending on the boat.

  • You will learn the concepts of sailing. You will have the opportunity to steer the boat and take part in the sailing manoeuvres on board, if you are interested of course. The skipper will be happy to show you what you need to know.

  • The final price is fixed, it does not vary at all.. No matter what fuel, port taxes or food you consume at the end of the trip. You will pay nothing more.

  • The cook is included. You will not have to cook. You do not have to buy food on arrival, nor during the week.. This way, you will have much more time during the week to enjoy yourselves. You will also be able to order any type of food in advance.

  • Travel itinerary may vary depending on external factors such as weather and availability of moorings. Unlike larger vessels, where the itinerary is fixed.

You can check in our section for shared groups. cabin charter sailing trips more information on how this type of travel works.

Skipper

Joan

With more than 25,000 miles under my keel, I have always been involved in sailing yachts and catamarans with passengers.

After all this time I can say that every mile sailed helped me to grow both personally and professionally.

I will try to make sure that you have a great time and a nice experience near the sea 😉.

I like to discover new places, new beaches, new adventures, new islands... do you want to discover them with me?

Tour

Day 1: ES TRENC BEACH

On Saturday afternoon and with the boat at sea, we set sail and left the large bay of Palma for the island of Cabrera.

On the way, and so that it doesn't get dark, we stop at the beach of Es Trenc. It is one of the best fine sandy beaches on the island of Mallorca and well worth a visit. We spend the night at anchor here. You begin to adapt to the sailboat and learn how life at sea works.

holidays-velero-isles-balearic-islands-cabrera

Day 2: CABRERA NATIONAL PARK

On Sunday, after a good swim at the beach of Es Trenc, we arrived at the island of Cabrera. This island hides some of the best unspoilt beaches that remain in the Mediterranean today.

We will go around the island to get to know all its contours. We will anchor in the east of the island, the only place where it is allowed, where there is a beautiful beach.

We will also visit its most famous cave, the blue cave, where you can enter with the inflatable and bathe inside.

In the evening we anchor at the northern buoys for the night. The fortress of the island lies at our feet and it is a very pleasant walk to the top. We spend the night in this little piece of paradise.

balearic-island-island-holidays

Day 3: EAST COAST OF MALLORCA

A last swim in the cleanest waters for hundreds of miles, we leave Cabrera. We now return to the east coast of Mallorca. We must start to gain miles to the north. We encounter a series of beautiful coves and shelters along the way.

After a good day of sailing, at sunset we arrive at Port Cala Ratjada. A fantastic place to go down to visit its small port and have dinner in a nearby restaurant.

holidays-velero-islas-baleares-pollensa

Day 4: POLLENSA BAY AND CAPE FORMENTOR

Today, Tuesday, we continue sailing north to the beautiful bay of Pollensa. There we will visit the beautiful coves of Cape Formentor and have lunch at anchor in one of them. After lunch we head to the port of Pollensa, today we spend the night moored in port.

We refuel in Pollensa with water and food for the rest of the week. It is highly recommended that you visit the village of Pollensa, just a few kilometres inland from the port. Its streets perched on the mountainside are a nice place to unwind and relax with its views of the bay.

mallorca-sa-calobra

Day 5: TRAMUNTANA SERRA DE TRAMUNTANA

Today, Wednesday, we set sail from the port of Pollensa very early in the morning and attack the long awaited Serra de Tramuntana. Its cliffs are impressive and we are going to enjoy the whole cruise.

We stop at some of its beautiful coves. Among the most outstanding are Cala Figuera and Sa Calobra. If the sea is good, we anchor and spend the night in Cala Sa Calobra, a unique experience.

mallorca-soller

Day 6: SOLLER

After the beautiful visit of Sóller we continue our way south. We stop for lunch in the always pleasant cove of Deià, where we have lunch.

We arrived at Dragonera/Sant Elm. Where we spend the night sheltered from possible waves or wind from the north.

rent-a-sailboat-mallorca-dragonera

Day 7: DRAGONERA - SANT ELM

Today we get up in a leisurely fashion. We have all day to get to Palma de Mallorca.

We have time to swim all the way back.

It has been a great sailing trip around Mallorca which we will celebrate with a great dinner in the port of Palma de Mallorca. On Saturday at 9am you will disembark. This is the end of your adventure on board.

The proposed itinerary is subject to weather conditions in the area and at the time. The skipper of the boat may change the route for the safety of the passengers and the boat.

We will also be able to modify the mooring points fixed in the ship's itinerary due to problems with port bookings.

Activities

activity-sailing-sailing-sailing

Sailing

On the return trip to the island of Mallorca you will have several opportunities to sail. Especially in the northeast and reaching Cabrera.

There are numerous sailing and boat steering manoeuvres. You can participate whenever you feel like it and learn the basics of sailing. The skipper will be happy to show you what you need to know.

activity-snorkelling-vacation-sailing

Snorkel

In the course of the trip we will look for the most privileged places for a good snorkel from the sailboat.

The best place without discussion is the natural park of Cabrera, where you can find the best snorkelling for a few hundred miles. For sure you will be able to discover a multitude of species in its waters.

activity-hiking-vacation-sailing

Trekking

The paths that connect beaches and coves are common on these islands, the so-called "caminos de ronda". These paths often rise up out of the terrain and offer beautiful views of the coastline.

The excursion to the top of the fortress on the island of Cabrera is one of them.

activity-sail-travel-sailboat

Swimming

The early morning swim is the most pleasurable of the day, as well as a luxury available to few. All you have to do is put on your swimming costume and jump off our sailboat.
activity-cultural-visits-crossing-sailing-boat

Cultural Visits

During the voyage there are some cultural visits. Among them, the castle on the island of Cabrera, which was used to watch out for North African pirates. The charming village of Pollensa, which goes into the mountains. Or the beautiful village of Soller, which goes deep into the Tramuntana mountains.

Highlights

rent-a-sailboat-mallorca-soller

Sóller

Sóller is located in the northwest part of Mallorca, in the Serra de Tramuntana, in the valley of gold or orange trees.

The most beautiful way to get there is from Puerto de Sóller. A tram dating back to 1912 connects the 27 km in 1 hour between Puerto de Sóller and Sóller.

Traditional village in the mountains, full of narrow streets, where you will also see some palaces and stately homes. Highly recommended to visit.

boat-rental-mallorca-sa-calobra

Sa Calobra Cove

A large bay with two beaches in the middle of the Serra de Tramuntana, on the northwest coast of the island.

A remote place, where large cliffs rise up to give way to a small sandy beach about 20 metres long.

A very mystical place, where it is a must to spend a night at anchor, weather permitting.

travel-mallorca-menorca-velero-palma-mallorca

Palma de Mallorca

Palma de Mallorca is the capital of the island and where all the tourists arrive. It is very well located, at the end of a large bay facing south, where it enjoys great shelter.

The main points of interest are the Cathedral, with its imposing façade facing the sea, the Almudaina Palace, the fish market and the Plaza Mayor.

The best place to rent your boat with skipper and explore the surroundings.

travel-mallorca-menorca-velero-cabrera

Cabrera Maritime-Terrestrial National Park

The Cabrera Maritime-Terrestrial National Park comprises the island of Cabrera in its entirety, as well as its surrounding waters. The fact that it is a national park has made possible the conservation of its environment, thus avoiding the presence of uncontrolled mass tourism.

We are at the best snorkelling spot of your trip. We will have our snorkelling equipment ready to try to spot as many species as possible.

alquiler-velero-mallorca-es-trenc

Es Trenc beach and Punta Salines

The long beach of Es Trenc, in the southeast of the island of Mallorca, is a fantastic place to go ashore with a dinghy and spend a few hours lying on the sand. Its shallow depth and white sand are ideal for swimming.

A little further south we reach Punta Salinas. An area far away from everything, where the massification has not arrived due to its difficult access. We can anchor with practically no boats in the surrounding area.

trip-mallorca-menorca-velero-port-pollensa

Puerto de Pollensa and Pollensa

During the charter week there is also time for you to visit the odd typical Mallorcan village. Once the yacht is moored in Puerto de Pollensa, at the end of the bay, you will have time to visit its main village, Pollensa, just a few kilometres inland. From here it is a good place to celebrate the success of the trip with a good dinner.
rent-a-sailboat-mallorca-dragonera

Dragonera Island

The island of Sa Dragonera is part of the Dragonera Natural Park. Considered an island of lighthouses and legends, we recommend a visit by disembarking at the small pier of Es Lladó.

From here you can take short walks to observe its fauna and flora, as well as to reach some of its lighthouses. A nice visit.

travel-mallorca-menorca-velero-formentor

Cape Formentor

This wild peninsula, in the northernmost part of Mallorca, is one of the least urbanised areas of the island, preserving all its charm.

Cliffs 300 metres high plunge down to the sea, which, with its sandy beaches at their feet, form a majestic landscape that is very appealing to visit. From the sailboat you will visit the most hidden places of this beautiful area.

rent-a-sailboat-mallorca-calas-northeast

Coves Northeast Mallorca

The beaches in the east of the island of Mallorca are considered to be the most beautiful on the island, although they are also the busiest. The sight of turquoise blue water with white sand and vegetation in the background is hard to beat.

It was my first trip and I am looking forward to more. Everything was great
I booked a gulet trip in Turkey through them and everything was wonderful. Very reliable and professional agency 100%. Highly recommended
We are a family of 7 people, we are sailing in Croatia for 7 days this summer 2024.
The trip has been a fantastic experience, combining sailing and discovering wonderful beaches and bays during the day with visits to the cities in the afternoons and evenings (Vis, Hvar, Korcula, Stari Grad, Split and Trogir). All this under the guidance of our wonderful skipper, Pave.
We would like to thank Joan Nogueron, from the Melee Travels Agency, for his organisation, advice and tips to make this trip a success.
Thank you for everything, we will surely repeat in another destination.
I booked a trip to Turkey by gulet with Mêlée Travels and I couldn't be happier. Joan, is super professional, at all times informed me about the trip, route and characteristics of the trip in a very accessible way. Thank you very much for everything, thanks to you it has been an unforgettable trip. A very reliable agency, I will recommend you as much as I can!

The trip itself has been good, for the places we have been able to enjoy and certainly for the company, but we would not repeat with this company, we had chosen precisely this one because of the comments and in our case they have not been adjusted to reality.
- The food was scarce, it had the feeling of being in camps, with a daily pasta menu with very basic preparations, and the breakfasts were also very scarce. Luckily in port we were buying our own bread and pastries to be able to have a good breakfast. We know that the cook who usually does the crossing failed and the new one was not used to these tasks on a ship, but I consider that the passengers should not pay for these inconveniences. The same goes for the mess and lack of cleanliness in the galley. I would like to thank Lucia and Lourdes, two crew members who took charge of the galley and solved a large part of the problem.
- The whole week without air conditioning due to a breakdown. We are in the month of July and it was really oppressive to sleep in port with so much heat at night.
Finally, this is a high value trip and we feel that we should have received better attention from MeleTravels, when we exposed the problems we encountered, they were all just a bunch of baloney without taking any blame.
