Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

The best way to reduce the price on our square to square crossings, in shared groups, is to make your booking before December 31st, in which case you will receive a 10% discount.

If you are repeat customers, you will always have the 10% discount, non-cumulative to the previous one, no matter when you book.

Another way to save on your trip is on flights. As you can imagine, if you book them in advance you will save a lot of money.

If you book a cruise that does not include a cook, it will cost you a little bit cheaper. As well as if you book a smaller cabin on board.

On the other hand, the full price per person for one of our trips may seem expensive for only one week. And perhaps it is.

From the experience of having travelled a lot, I can also tell you that, on certain trips, where the experiences are very particular, the price paid seems less expensive at the end of the trip. Some experiences are priceless.

In this group of trips you will find life experiences on board sailing boats, such as the ones we sell. As we can also find for example a safari in Africa.

The people who come to the crossings in the square-to-square mode (sharing with strangers) are usually people with a similar profile and with a lot of things in common. People come with a very open mind and with a desire to have a good time. This makes for a very good atmosphere on board.

In such an atypical context as a sailing boat or catamaran, comic situations are continuous on board. It is difficult to get bored.

If you need intimacy. Intimate moments with your partner are also respected. The most common thing for couples is to go for a swim together on the beach or to have dinner together one night.

The trip follows an itinerary to visit the scheduled points of interest. During the journey we sail from one island to another, stopping at the most beautiful beaches and coves along the way, also visiting the most emblematic towns on each island.

There is an average sailing time of 4-5 hours per day, depending on the crossing. You will sleep in coves and bays where the sea is calm. Some days you will also spend the night in the most beautiful ports and harbours of the area for a cultural visit of the place.

The proposed sailing areas are always provided with alternatives for shelter. In this way, any bad weather situation is foreseen in advance and weathered without any problems for the passage.

Overall the proposed trip is a great experience on a personal level. Something different from what you have probably done before and a great opportunity to get a closer look at the interesting world of the sea.

Many people call us worried about getting seasick on the crossing. Then, once on board and after a few hours on the boat, they hardly remember it.

Seasickness is very low, as the body adapts perfectly to the boat in just a few hours. In addition, the trips we make are affordable for everyone. The skipper knows perfectly well when there is a possibility of seasickness or unpleasant conditions for the passengers, avoiding them and modifying the route as much as possible.

If you are only 2 passengers, the shared groups square by square are the best option. If there are 4 or more of you, you can start thinking about setting up a private group. From 6 upwards the cost per person decreases and it is a very good idea to set up a private group.

In the "place to place" mode in shared groups, you pay a fixed price which includes all the expenses during the crossing. Then at the destination we don't have to worry about anything and we just arrive to embark and enjoy. The crew, fuel, moorings, food, its purchase and stowage on board are included in the price. Not the cook. Only the national and/or natural parks and extra activities have to be paid for.

The sailing boats carry a maximum of 7 passengers + skipper, normally in groups of 5 or 6 passengers + skipper.
The catamaran boats carry a maximum of 8 passengers + skipper.

How it works square to square crossings.

There are two types of recreational boating for private groups. One is in "Bareboat" mode and the other in "Crewed" mode.

In the "Bareboat" mode you hire individual services. You rent and pay for a boat only, like renting a rental car. Then you add extras at your convenience, but they are not compulsory. For example, skipper, cook, outboard motor, paddle surf boards, etc. The price is not fixed and then at the destination you have to pay for some expenses such as food, moorings and fuel. You are the organizers and ultimately responsible for the success of the trip, although we will help you with everything you need.

In the "Crewed" mode you rent and pay for the boat together with some obligatory services. Skipper, cook, sailor, water equipment, among others. Also, in some cases, the expenses of the trip are included, food, moorings, fuel, etc. You pay a fixed price that includes everything. Unlike the "Bareboat", you hire an organised trip, in which you are no longer ultimately responsible for the success of the trip, but the company with which you contract, in this case us.

How it works private mode crossings.

There is a wide range of activities that can be done from the boat. Some of them are:

  • Sailing as the most representative. This is your chance to sail a 15-metre sailing yacht.
  • Snorkelling. You will have the whole day to put on your mask and snorkel and explore the seabed.
  • Fishing. If you rent fishing equipment you can also enjoy this activity.
  • Paddle surfing. The bays where we anchor are ideal for you to explore the area by paddle surfing. You will love it.
  • Hiking or cycling routes. If you like, in some places and on some islands you can also go hiking or cycling along their trails is also an option.
  • Scuba diving. On some trips you will also have the opportunity to go scuba diving.
  • Cultural visits. You will visit the cultural centres of the places visited.

We are an agency and we can organise accommodation and visits at your destination without any problem, both before and after the trip.

We also have some circuits already set up which include, in addition to the crossing, other visits of interest.

All the routes have been put together with the best places in the area. Some are more remote than others, some more cultural than others, some with better beaches, some with more cultural hotspots, but all are worthwhile. You can't go wrong in choosing one or the other. We do not make trips without attractions or points of interest that are worthwhile, so that you can enjoy the week to the full.

In order to know which crossing is right for you, you need to be clear about the following:

  • Available dates. Not all crossings are available on all dates.
  • How many passengers are you going to be. If you are a group of 4 or more passengers you can think about making a private crossing.
  • What previous experience do you have in this type of experience? Most of our tours are suitable for everyone, although some may be a little demanding if you are travelling with children.
  • What is your budget? The price of the crossings is usually similar, but the price of the planes can change from one place to another.

With this information you should contact the contact form or phone us and we will tell you which crossings are the most suitable for you, as well as the alternatives available to you.

All our trips are of 1 week duration.

You will be hard pressed to find a ship that works less than a week at a time during the season. The season is defined as May to October. Ships operate on a weekly basis in the Mediterranean destinations, specifically from Saturday to Saturday.

In some cases if you go in April or early May, or at the end of October you can find rentals for single days in the Mediterranean.

If you are going in a private group, in some tropical destinations it is possible to rent the boat only for single days.

Our boats in the square to square mode, shared groups, are normally sailboats and catamarans.

The boats we use on our trips are sailing boats of 14.5 metres in length and are for a maximum of 7 passengers + skipper. Or catamarans of around 12-14 metres in length for 8 passengers. Spacious boats and with few years of life to avoid possible breakdowns. Boats with the improvements of the latest models and that notably improve the older models.

This type of boats have all the necessary comforts to enjoy an exciting adventure at sea, double cabins, large cockpit, folding platform for bathing, outdoor table, solarium area, kitchen with oven, as well as being boats that sail beautifully. It goes without saying that all the boats are equipped with the safety equipment required for their sailing area.

If you want to go as a private group we will find the boat you need. You can choose between a sailing boat, catamaran or schooner, depending on the sailing area. Any size with the extras you need.

See ships here.

On our square to square, shared group trips, the route is fixed and cannot be changed at the passenger's request. Although we can always change small things if the majority of the group prefers it.

We can change the planned itinerary if the group is private. In the private trip mode the itinerary is tailor-made and we will go wherever you want, as long as the sailing distance is reasonable and the weather allows it.

On some of our crossings there is a cook on board, and on others there is not.

When there is no cook on board. The tasks on board are divided among the entire crew. Obviously, the tasks relating to navigation and organisation of the navigation equipment are the responsibility of the skipper of the vessel.

All other tasks such as cooking, cleaning and tidying up are done by the crew, usually in groups of two. Everyone must participate in these tasks, which allows everyone to have more free time at the end to enjoy the trip.

When there is a cook on board. Passengers shall not be responsible for the tasks related to meals. Nor are they responsible for cleaning.

On some vessels there is wifi and on others there is not. It should be noted that with the new regulations we can spend voice and data from our Spanish tariff in any European country, including Croatia and Greece, and we will not be charged any additional fees.

On the boats we use on our square to square crossings, in shared groups, there will be food of all kinds and for all tastes. Vegetables, fruit, meat, yoghurts, pastries, bread, etc. The menus can be the usual Spanish and Mediterranean type.

Breakfasts are usually toasted bread with cold meats, butter, juice, etc. Meals can be various salads, pasta or rice, and meat. In the evening there are omelettes, pizzas, sausages, etc. It is not customary to eat fish on board, as it is difficult to keep in the fridges and in most cases you order it when you dine out.

You can order the food you need during the trip, as we will be buying and replenishing food throughout the week. You can also order in advance at the beginning of the trip any food that you need in particular, such as skimmed milk or similar.

All our boats, whether sailing boats or catamarans, in square to square mode in shared groups are equipped with snorkelling equipment (no fins) and 2 paddle surf boards, which I assure you will get a great use out of them.
